- This edit is designed to get your manuscript ready for publication. Editing will focus on polishing the manuscript. You will receive an edit letter addressing large-scale issues with the manuscript, including, but not limited to, plot structure and pacing, character and plot continuity, believability and research, overarching grammar and punctuation issues. There may be some comments in the manuscript but the majority of the comments will come in the edit letter.

In-Depth Developmental Edit

- In addition to an editorial letter reviewing the issues in the manuscript as a whole, comments and analyzation will be made throughout the manuscript on a scene/chapter level. In addition to reviewing plot structure and pacing, character and plot continuity, believability and research, and grammar, the editor will comment on awkward sentence phrasing, repeated wording, and rythm. This is not a copy-edit or proofread.

Line Edit

The line edit focuses on the story at a line level: word echoes, inconsistencies, awkward wording, sentence repetition and structure, rhythm, and an overview of grammar and punctuation issues. This is not a developmental (story) edit, rather it is a second (or third round) edit to polish the writing itself.

This is the very last step in the writing process and is a careful check for any remaining errors. This edit will focus on typographical/mechanical errors such as missing words, punctuation, spelling (including homonyms), and capitalization. This is not a copy edit.
